Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." Certainly, this verses gives encouragement to parents to instruct their kids in the faith. Yet it also calls them (and even grandparents) to depend upon the Lord to bring fruit from the good seed of the Gospel planted into their children.
