PCA's General Assembly Supports the Nashville Statement
The Nashville Statement was written in 2017 in response to our culture’s confusion regarding marriage and sexual identity. The statement asserts that humanity's "true identity, as male and female persons, is given by God" and “God’s design for his creation and his way of salvation serve to bring him the greatest glory and bring us the greatest good.” Furthermore, it expresses Christianity's "fundamental beliefs and...biblical boundaries so that [pastors] can both listen and speak with clarity in tender pastoral moments," says Denny Burk, the President of the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood. At General Assembly in late June, the PCA voted to affirm the Nashville Statement and requested that it be officially used by the denomination.
