Our PurposeGrace Church is a body of believers that exists to worship the God of grace through faith in Jesus Christ, to biblically equip the church unto spiritual maturity, and to proclaim the gospel to West Atlanta and the world. WorshipWorship is the Spirit-led response to God's sovereign grace and is the highest and grandest calling of Christians. At Grace Church, we passionately seek to offer God the praise, honor, and worship due His holy name. Through prayer, confession, song, reading and preaching of Scripture and participation in the sacraments, we intentionally celebrate our union with the living Christ who reigns in glory and in our hearts. We believe, at its best, worship is word-regulated, God-centered, Spirit-filled, Christ-mediated, and joyfully reverent. To be sure, worship is something that Christians do in all of life. Even so, we do not believe this minimizes God's call on the lives of His redeemed children to be weekly engaged in more formal times of public, family, and private worship. EquipWe believe that the Holy Spirit uses the written Word of God to effectually call and transform the lives of God's people, thereby equipping them to live out the Christian life with increasing measures of holiness. It is through the ordinary ministry of the Word that God sanctifies His Church (John 17:17). For this reason, we place tremendous stress upon the preaching and teaching of God's Word. The Holy Scriptures are read and expounded at Grace Church through systematic-expository preaching, Sunday school, weekly bible studies, home fellowship groups, and children's ministry. ProclaimAs ambassadors of Christ, we are called to be heralds of the good news of salvation to the lost. Once true worship has taken place and solid equipping has been accomplished, God's people are filled with a passion to spread the glorious gospel of grace to those who walk in darkness and unbelief. At Grace Church, we emphasize the providential placing of every member in a particular sphere of influence, to be salt and light in the context in which God has placed them. Whether a teacher, homemaker, lawyer, student, doctor, plumber, businessman, or therapist, we believe God has called each of us to graciously influence those whom God has placed in our midst, proclaiming to them, in word and deed, that only in Christ is there forgiveness, healing, joy, and eternal life. |
