The nation of Peru, alongside Germany, is a primary mission focus of Grace Church. Although we support a number of missionaries from all over the world, by God's leading, we have chosen Peru as an epicenter of overseas ministry. We believe that pouring resources into church planting over a long period of time will serve to build up the Presbyterian Church in Peru and help us to cultivate stronger relationships with our Peruvian brothers and sisters in Christ.
Annual Spring Pastors' Conference
For several years, Grace has sent members of our session to lead pastor's conferences in Huancavalica, Peru, a city located 12,500 ft. up in the Andes Mountains. These conferences are mostly attended by rural, bi-vocational pastors and youth who are eager to learn about different aspects of Reformed theology.
In February of 2011, GPC will send Pastor Jon, along with Pastor Carl Robbins, Pastor of Woodruff Road PCA in Greenville, SC, to Lima, Peru. Pastor Jon and Pastor Carl will deliver three days worth of lectures on Reformed worship to the ministers and elders of the Reformed Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Peru. They will also provide copies of Pastor Payne's book, "In The Splendor of Holiness," which has been recently translated into Spanish, and published by Tolle Lege Press.
Peru Summer Mission Teams
In the summer of 2005, we sent our first short-term missions team to Lima, Peru. In order to encourage and assist in building up the Peruvian Church through preaching, child evangelism, mercy ministry (dental clinic. etc.), construction, and theological lectures we have made this a yearly tradition. Our seventh annual summer trip is scheduled for July 21-29, 2011. To see pictures from last year's trip click on "Photo Gallery" link on the left.
