Pray for Our Persecuted Brothers and Sisters in China
According to World Magazine, on Sunday morning, December 9, Chinese authorities arrested more than 100 of the leaders and members of Early Rain Covenant Church in Chengdu, China. Congregants arrived at their building to find the gate locked and police blocking all the entrances; some of these congregants were arrested. The following Sunday, December 16, members of Early Rain tried to meet for worship, but police detained about 60 people and shut down outdoor services. Other churches have received similar treatment. A recent prayer update from Early Rain Covenant Church said this: “Lord, today we worship you in police cars. We worship you in police stations. We worship you in detention centers. We worship you in prisons. And we worship you in homes. We have no other goal except to worship you alone.”
